When using your moisturizer, make sure it has completely penetrated before applying the mineral foundation or prior to applying the minerals lightly dust with Youngblood Rice Setting Powder, to prime the face. |

Remove the clear sticker off the foundation shaker top, turn the jar upside down, and tap a few times, which will dispense a controlled amount of foundation into the lid of the jar or onto a tissue. Then using an applicator of your choice, apply makeup. In no time you'll determine exactly how much you need. |

For light to medium coverage, use less product, apply with a Youngblood large kabuki or Youngblood super powder brush. Also, blending equal amounts of minerals to our Rice Setting Powder (which also has oil controlling properties) will give you lighter coverage. |

For heavier coverage, use more product and apply with a Youngblood small kabuki, Youngblood flocked sponge or a Youngblood round sponge. |
|
If a concealer is desired, mix a small amount of the powder with a few drops of water or an oil free moisturizer. Apply with a dry Youngblood sponge, Youngblood sable eye shadow brush, or your fingers. |

If a beautiful creamy liquid foundation is preferred, place your favorite light daytime moisturizer, or sunscreen in the palm of your hand, add mineral powder and mix proportionately to desired consistency. |

For post laser: Apply makeup only after skin has completely re-epithelized. Do not apply minerals over a heavy petrolatum based balm or heavy cream. (Makeup can get cakey) Apply dry mineral powder to a dry skin with a dry fluff or a Youngblood sponge. The Youngblood flocked sponge is the most effective. |

Artistry Application Tips
|
|
|
Custom Color: If your shade appears too yellow or too pink, custom blend with a little of the opposite based shade (Example: warm beige too yellow - add one of our pink under tone shades, neutral or rose beige). This is best accomplished on a tissue or in a separate container with a lid. Begin with two parts of your base shade to one part of the opposite colored base. Experiment with the ratios. Once you have created your custom shade, pre-mix in quantity. To slightly lighten a shade, blend with Youngblood Rice Setting Powder. |

Layering of Colors: This is extremely effective if one shade is a perfect match to your overall skin tone but you want a little more surface color. Lightly apply the first shade that matches your skin tone. Then lightly apply the second darker or warmer shade - applying onto the hollows of your cheek and at the hairline. For more warmth or slight color correction - try Youngblood dark Rice Setting Powder. |

Multi Purpose Uses: Use lighter shades for high lighting on eyelids and upper portion of cheekbone. Darker shades look fabulous for contouring in the crease of your eyes and the hollows of your cheeks. Youngblood Sunglow and Youngblood Coffee are wonderful as bronzers. Need an instant tan and don't have time to wait for a self-tanner? Try a small amount of our Youngblood Fawn or Youngblood Mahogany in your favorite sunscreen or moisturizer on your legs. If it appears too dark, put a little water on your hands and smooth over legs. Blot with a paper towel or tissue to set. You won't believe how natural it looks. JUST LIKE SILK STOCKINGS!! |

Rice Powder Tips

To prime your face for long lasting oil control, tap a small amount of rice powder into the lid of the jar. For all over oil control, apply rice powder with our Kabuki brush, then apply foundation on top. For maximum oil absorption, apply with a cosmetic sponge before foundation application. Press it into the skin for best results. |
|
To reduce the appearance of large pores, apply with a sponge before makeup application. Stipple and roll the sponge to set the product. |
|
To achieve the perfect matte finish when used with mineral foundation, create a blend of rice powder and foundation. Mix 2 parts foundation to 1 part rice powder. Blend together for shine free coverage. |
|
So set makeup for long lasting matte finish, simply dust rice powder over your foundation with our powder brush. |

To customize your foundation shade: The rice powder is slightly pigmented and can be mixed with foundation colors to change the shading. |

To prime lips and eye area for long lasting makeup, apply with finger or small brush before color applications. |

| Problem: Chalky, mask-like or too heavy |
| Cause: Over-application, color is too light, or use of incorrect application tool. |
| Solution: Custom blend two shades together, use a darker shade or utilize a fluffier facial brush. |
|
| Problem: Drying Appearance? |
| Cause: Surface of the skin is too dry and needs exfoliation. |
| Solution: Utilize a heavier moisturizer, use a scrub or rapid exfolilator to smooth the skin's surface, or create a liquid foundation by blending your moisturizer and mineral makeup together. |
|
| Problem: Pores Appear Larger or Powder is Lying in Fine Lines? |
| Cause: Over-application and/or the product has been applied with a brush. (This can be more frequent with lighter shades which are more luminous.) |
| Solution: Blend rice powder and minerals 1/2 and 1/2, apply with a sponge using a pressing, rocking motion to set the mineral makeup. Using a damp sponge would "set" the powder and lift off any excess powder on top of the skin. |
| Alternate Solution: Apply Youngblood Rice Powder before or after the mineral foundation by pressing it into the skin with a dry sponge. |
|
| Problem: Shiny or oily appearance? |
| Cause: Moisturizer too heavy or over-application. |
| Solution: Use oil free moisturizer of apply Youngblood Rice Setting Powder under and/or over the mineral foundation. |
|
| Problem: Streaked, blotchy or uneven appearance? |
| Cause: Over-application, moisturizer is too heavy, moisturizer may contain alpha hydroxy acids (minerals will not move), or the moisturizer is not completely penetrated into the skin. |
| Solution: Blend foundation with rice powder, experiment with different moisturizers and if the powder is mixed in your moisturizer, make sure that the beads of powder are complete blended in. |
